Spazio Voce, Triennale Milano - Centralized control in a zero-space ceiling
Spazio Voce is Triennale Milano's permanent space for sound and immersive listening. Housed within the Palazzo dell'Arte, a landmark of Italian rationalist architecture by Giovanni Muzio, 1933.
The space presented a demanding set of technical constraints from the outset. An acoustic treatment system occupying the ceiling and walls left no available space for distributed hardware.
The design brief required every lighting component to remain completely invisible.
SPI-XT provided the solution.

350 meters of LED strips across 330 square meters, over 8 kilometers of cabling: centralizing control was not an option. It was a necessity.
SPI-XT unified all controllers in a single location, integrating each RX unit directly behind the aluminum profiles. The extender disappears into the structure. The ceiling stays uncompromised so the entire installation remains fully inspectable.
The ultra-compact TX and RX units sit directly behind the aluminum profiles. Every components remains out of sight, fully integrated within the structure.
Consolidating all controllers in one location eliminated distributed access points across the ceiling. No visible hatches, no exposed cabling. Acoustic panels and architectural finish remained intact.

Signal distribution over distance was a critical requirement. SPI-XT's capacity to carry the SPI signal up to 250 meters over standard DMX cable resolved the problem without additional infrastructure or custom wiring.
